Frequently Asked Questions
There are two methods of manufacturing CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays.
Duplication is the preferred method for smaller runs of up to around 500 units, or perhaps even 1000 units when turnaround time is the key factor. In the duplication process, data is 'burned' to recordable media such as CD-R, DVD-R and BD-R.
Replicated discs are the standard for major commercial releases and large volume runs. Replication is a manufacturing process that presses the data using a 'glass master'. It is most suited to orders of at least 500 units (to justify the setup costs involved) and when there is no tight time deadline involved.
The audio and print quality are the same across both methods of copying.
We prefer to receive your music as a DDP master file or a physical disc. If this is not possible, you can send WAV files at 16bit, 44.1Khz. We can then use these to make the DDP master (there is a small charge for this service).
Customers can upload DDP image files, artwork and other related files directly to our dedicated server using the file upload facility on our website.
Due to the potentially large file size of Blu-Ray Discs, we are only able to accept physical masters for Blu-Rays duplication orders, not uploaded image files.
If you choose to post your master disc, please mail it to:

Please ensure you use a delivery method that allows for tracking (e.g. Royal Mail Special Delivery service). Also, be sure to include your name, land address, email and telephone number.
All aspects of our duplicated products are carried out in-house. This means that we can turnaround your order within 2 - 4 working days. For replication orders, we aim to turnaround orders within 7 - 10 working days.
To keep things simple, we have created PDF templates for every disc and packaging option offered by MTS Duplication.
Templates can be downloaded from the Artwork Templates section of our website.
Simply download the relevant templates from our site and create your artwork in any professional graphics program. We require high resolution PDF files to print from. All artwork supplied must meet our specifications. Please import these templates into your design software at 300dpi CYMK colour format and converting fonts to outlines to avoid any issues with missing fonts etc.
We are not able to offer a full design service for our short-run duplication. However, we can arrange to layout your artwork for a small charge. If you only require some basic text applied to your discs or packaging, we can accept an email containing this information. We can then cut and paste and print to your discs or packaging accordingly.
Ideally not, we really need artwork in PDF format. If this isn't possible, we can arrange to convert your artwork for you (there will be a small charge for this).
For our range of internal digitally printed products (quantities less than 300) we are happy to produce a one-off print sample from your supplied final PDF artwork.
Some of our custom printed card packaging, as well as our paper inserts and inlays, are available as both coated and uncoated stock. Our uncoated stock also benefits from being 100% recycled.
Yes, we do. Some of our duplicated packaging products are manufactured using 100% recycled card and paper stock and we will be increasing this option across our range in due course.
MTS Duplication take the environment seriously! All our card and paper packaging are eco-friendly. We only use stock that is responsibly sourced from sustainable forests and certified by the FSC. We aim to offer a 100% recycled stock for customers who want to be as 'green' as possible.
All the paper and card 'off cuts' from our guillotines and die-cutters are recycled by a national company and we used recycled cardboard for all our outer boxes.
All MTS Duplication quotes are valid for 30 days.
Lots of our clients come back for further copies of the same product. We hold most masters on our systems for about a year, giving you plenty of time to re-order.
Once we receive your order and have logged it on to our production system you will receive an automated email confirming all the details. You will also receive a full VAT invoice (by email) with a request for payment. Our bank details are on the invoice for BACS payments. We also accept PayPal, but do not take credit or debit cards. Some clients call in to collect their orders and pay in cash.
All customers are required to make payment in advance of manufacture and despatch of orders. However, 30-day credit terms may be granted to companies wishing to place regular orders - subject to a successful credit check.
